Benefits:
– It is effective against both gram positive and gram negative bacteria, Mycoplasma and anaerobic organisms.
– Its wide spectrum of activity includes the pathogenic organisms like E coli, Salmonella spp., Staphylococcus spp., Streptococcus spp., Kiebsiells spp., Pseudomonas aeroginosa, Bordetella bronchiseptic, Mycoplasma spp., Clostridium perfringes and Camphylobacter.
– Diseases producted by these organism in poultry can effectively be treated with Levofloxacin 10% Oral Liquid.
Dosage & Administration:
It is administered through drinking water at the following dosage rate –
For Treatment : 1 ml per 1-2 ltr of drinking water or 20 mg/kg body weight for 3-5 days
For Prevention: 1 ml per 2-4 ltr of drinking water or 10mg/kg body weight for 3-5 days
Or as directed by the registered veterinarian.
Warnings:
– Determine the body weght accurately before treatment to ensure correct dosage.
– Wash the hands thoroughly after use.
– After treatment, animals should be moved to clean place in order to prevent re-infection.
– After the end of treatment, the watering system should be cleaned appropriately to prevent drug resistance.
– It should not be used for poultry resistant to any Quinolone derivative because cross resistance may develop.
Withdrawal:
Meat: 4 days after the latest treatment prior to slaughter.
Egg: 7 days after the latest treatment prior to laying period.
