Description:
Ciprofloxacin belongs to the group of quinolones and acts bactericidally against mainly gram negative bacteria like Campylobacter, E. coli, Haemophilus, Mycoplasma, Pasteurella and Salmonella spp.
Indications:
Gastrointestinal, respiratory and urinary tract infections caused by ciprofloxacin sensitive microorganisms like Campylobacter, E. coli, Haemophilus, Mycoplasma, Pasteurella and Salmonella spp. in calves, goats, poultry, sheep and swine.
Contraindications:
Hypersensitivity to ciprofloxacin.
Administration to animals with a serious impaired hepatic and/or renal function.
Concurrent administration of tetracyclines, chloramphenicol, macrolides and lincosamides.
Dosage:
For oral administration:
Poultry:
100 ml per 300 – 400 litres of drinking water for 3 – 5 days.
Calves, goats and sheep:
Twice daily 5 ml per 75 – 150 kg body weight for 3 – 5 days.
Note: for pre-ruminant calves, lambs and kids only.
Withdrawal Times:
For meat: 12 days.
Presentation:
Bottle of 100 ml, 500 ml, 1000 ml and 5000 ml.
